Colorado National Monument and the Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture are pleased to announce the "Art Exhibit of the Century" juried art contest winners. Winning artwork was selected from over 100 entries of a variety of mediums including photography, watercolor paintings, oil paintings, pen and ink drawings, and charcoal. All works portrayed the landscape, environment, or wildlife of Colorado National Monument. Congratulations to our winners.

1st Place – Rose Nordenberg "Just a Pushover" (pen and ink)

2nd Place – Fred Honchell "Spring Snow" (watercolor)

3rd Place – Steve Traudt "Shadow Riders" (photograph)

The winning artwork along with the other beautiful art contest entries are currently on display at the Grand Junction City Hall Building through March 31 and at the Mesa County Community Services Building from April 1 through June 30.

On Friday, January 7, over 250 people attended the opening at the Grand Junction City Hall Building to celebrate this unique exhibit.

Now the public is invited to participate in the "People's Choice" contest by voting for their favorite artwork online until February 28, 2011. Visit the Colorado National Monument Association website for details at www.coloradonma.org.
