Be A Junior Ranger
Our Junior Ranger Program is designed to help you and your family enjoy the reserve, as well as help the rangers protect its features. Being a Junior Ranger means more than just knowing about the nature and history of the area. Junior Rangers must help protect the area by obeying the rules and caring for the wildlife and special features of City of Rocks.
Junior Ranger Pledge:
Did You Know?
Beginning in 1843, City of Rocks was a landmark for emigrants on the California Trail. At the height of emigration, in 1852, some 52,000 people passed through City of Rocks on the way to California goldfields. Today, City of Rocks National Reserve protects over 6 miles of this historic trail.
