Bonita Canyon Scenic Drive and Day Use

• The length limit for Bonita Canyon Drive past the Visitor Center is 24 feet. Exception for campers; see below.
• All trailers must be disconnected and left in the Faraway Ranch parking lot unless proceeding directly to a reserved campsite.
• Vehicles longer than 24 feet may stay at the Faraway Ranch parking lot for the day, but not overnight.
• There is no turnaround or parking for large vehicles at the Visitor Center.

Bonita Canyon Campground

• The length limit for Bonita Canyon Campground is 29 feet, total length, which includes length of both vehicle and any trailer or fifth wheel.
• All campers with vehicles longer than 24 feet, or with a trailer or fifth wheel, must proceed directly to their reserved campsite.

Access from Faraway Ranch

• The easy, 1.5 mile / 2.4 km Silver Spur Meadow Trail connects Faraway Ranch and the Visitor Center.
• From the Visitor Center, the Lower Rhyolite Canyon Trail will provide access to see rock formations.

Hiker Shuttle

• If you're unable to do the scenic drive but are interested in hiking, we offer a seasonal hiker shuttle!
• Shuttle service is seasonal and dependent on staffing. Contact the Visitor Center for information on if it is running.
• The hiker shuttle departs once daily from Faraway Ranch parking lot at 9:00 am and Bonita Canyon Campground (near the restrooms) at 9:10 am. It drops riders off at the Echo Canyon and Massai Point parking lots.
• No advance registration is required, just meet at the pickup point the morning of your hike. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
• The shuttle is intended for hikers who want a one-way hike back down to their vehicle. There is no return shuttle.
• Trails back down include Echo Canyon to pickup point (4.7-5.7 miles / 7.5-9.1 km) and Heart of Rocks to pickup point (7.8-8.8 miles / 12.5-14.1 km).
• Shuttle service is dependent on weather and staffing availability and may be cancelled without notice.
