On Tuesday October 13, 2009, sidewalk installation will begin at the Island Ford unit of Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.  The new sidewalk will be adjacent to the entrance road to the park. The sidewalk is being installed to separate pedestrians from vehicle traffic entering the park.

Construction will be on the left side of the road as you enter the park beginning at the entrance gate. No road closures are anticipated during construction. As always use caution while driving on park roads. Construction is expected to last 4 weeks.
