The Johnson Ferry North Unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is closed through Monday, February 21. Due to unexpected work being performed by Colonial Pipeline at the unit, the park staff deemed the area to be unsafe for park visitors. Colonial will be encasing the pipeline underneath Johnson Ferry Rd. Unless there are any unforeseen problems that arise, Johnson Ferry North should be re-opened on Tuesday, February 22.

All Trout have a protective membrane or "slime coat" that covers their scales and is their first line of defense against infection and disease. Damage to this coating can severely hurt the fish. Wetting your hands or limiting contact with the fish increases the likelihood that the fish will survive.
