Parks as Classrooms
Use lesson plans and teacher guides to enhance classroom learning by using the cultural and natural resources of the park as teaching tools and provide an opportunity for students to make real-world connections with science and history. These materials are designed to be used in conjunction with either a class visit to the park or a Ranger visit to the classroom.
Visiting the National Seashore is a great way to bring your lessons to life! Learn more about the hands-on, interactive Ranger programs available for your class and get planning information for your trip.
Traveling trunks bring a little bit of Cape Lookout to your school, library, scout troop, or youth organization. Each trunk is designed to introduce students and teachers to different subjects related to Cape Lookout National Seashore. They contain background information, classroom activities, student activity pages, games, books, and other educational materials.
Is your class unable to visit Cape Lookout National Seashore? Let us bring the seashore to your classroom! Rangers are available from October to April to schools and youth groups within a 2 hour driving distance of Harkers Island.
