The Outer Banks Group announced today the Travel Channel will premier an episode on the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. The new back-to-back, half-hour episodes on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 9:00 and 9:30 pm (ET/PT) of John Ratzenberger’s Made in America series will include segments on Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, scenes of U.S. Coast Guardsmen changing the lens for aid to navigation, and the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum which displays the remaining original pieces of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse lens.

Season five of Ratzenberger’s Made in America series continues its tradition of celebrating the people, places and products that are uniquely American. This season, however, viewers are in store for a new twist on the series’ familiar theme. In addition to profiling the sought-after products of American manufacturers, season five will premiere segments featuring some of the country’s most fascinating American-made wonders including the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, the Sears Tower in Chicago, the General Jackson Showboat in Nashville, the Twin Span Bridge in New Orleans, Seattle’s Space Needle, and the Cable Car system in San Francisco. Ratzenberger takes viewers along for rare, behind-the-scenes tours of these iconic American-made structures and reveals the fascinating stories behind how they were built and how they continue to operate today.
