The National Park Service (NPS) has announced a new policy effective this Veterans Day (November 11, 2006). U.S. Veterans, members of armed forces and their families will be admitted free-of-charge on Veterans Day to public lands managed by the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture.
Therefore on November 11th the entrance fee at Wright Brothers National Memorial will be waived for all veterans, members of the U.S. armed forces and their families. The entrance pass issued to veterans on November 11th will be valid for that day.
This tradition will continue annually on November 11th each year. The date will not change with the date of the federal holiday. "I am pleased the Department has issued this policy. This is one small way we can express our appreciation to the Veterans and American servicemen and women who have served and are serving this country", said Superintendent Murray.
