Campfire Rules & Regulations

Campfires are permitted in designated campgrounds and picnic areas where fire grates are provided.

  • Campfires are allowed in the backcountry and below the high water mark along Bighorn Lake.
  • Fire restrictions during periods of high fire danger may close certain areas to fires and camping. Check at the campgrounds and visitor centers for restrictions.
  • Do not leave campfires unattended. The frequent high winds can spread a fire out of the fire ring at any time.
  • Only collect driftwood below the high water mark.
  • Driftwood is usually available for campfires in stockpiles at Ok-A-Beh, Barry’s Landing and Horseshoe Bend.
