Fur trading at Johnson's Ranch

Did You Know?
The frontier economy of Big Bend relied heavily on fur trading. The furs included mostly fox, bobcat, coyote, skunk, and ringtail, but there were also a few beaver, javelina, and panther pelts, and some goat and deer hides. The price of pelts varied, but normally it was from 40ยข up to $1.00 each.
