WILD BUCKWHEAT (Eriogonum racemosum)
Blooms in mid to late summer. Found in the Piñon-Juniper Woodland such as on the Burnt Mesa Trail.

HERONSBILL (Erodium cicutarium)
Bloom very early in the spring and late into the fall. Found in disturbed soil like near the visitor center or on the Main Pueblo Loop Trail.

FIREWEED (Epilobium angustifolium)
Blooms in mid summer. Prefers disturbed areas such as along roads or in recently burned areas. Found in higher elevation areas of the park.

ROSE GENTIAN (Gentiana atrictiflora)
Found in mixed conifer forests such as on Alamo Boundary Trail or Cerro Grande Route. Blooms in mid-summer.

HEDGEHOG PRICKLY PEAR (Opuntia erinacea)
Found in the piñon-juniper woodland. Blooms in early summer.

COLORADO BLUE COLUMBINE (Aquilegia caerulea)
Found only at the highest elevations within Bandelier where sufficient moisture is available such as on Alamo Boundary Trail. Blooms in early to mid summer.

FALSE INDIGOBUSH (Amorpha fruticosa)
Small bush with small leaves and spiked flowers. Found along streambanks or other moist locations. Blooms in mid to late summer.

MOUNTAIN LOVER (Pachyetima myreinites)
Small ground hugging shrub. Blooms in late spring, early summer. Found in Ponderosa Forest and Mixed Conifer Forest such as along the Falls Trail.
