Do you need photos or short video for a news story or school project? Badlands maintains an extensive photo collection on Flickr. All images are public domain and free to use; most are high-resolution. Please credit the appropriate photographer and NPS. For video, some short clips and slideshows are available on Flickr. The park also has a YouTube channel.

Did You Know?

During the Age of Dinosaurs, a warm, shallow sea covered the Great Plains, including what is now Badlands. Since dinosaurs were land creatures, no fossils of these animals have been found in the park. Giant marine lizards called mosasaurs swam in the ancient sea, along with sea turtles and fish.
