A Cultural History of Three Traditional Hawaiian Sites on the West Coast of Hawai'i Island

This document provides an excellent resource for detailed information regarding not only Pu'ukoholā Heiau National Historic Site, but also for Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park and Pu'uhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park.

You will find information about the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail which runs through all three National Park units on the west side of the island of Hawaii. The trail continues around the southern point of the island connecting to Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park on the east side.
