Ulmus americana ‘Princeton’ 

October 24, 2022

On October 24, 2022, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden planted a Princeton elm tree on east mound of the South Grounds with Dale Haney, Superintendent of the White House Grounds and Executive Residence, to honor Haney’s 50 years of service to the White House. Mr. Haney first began his work at the White House for the National Park Service in 1972 and was promoted to his current position in 2007.
