Any canine visitor can become a B.A.R.K. Ranger at Ulysses S. Grant NHS. Ask at the Information desk in the Visitor Center for details. The process is simple.

ACTIVITY
The dog and their human companion should take a quick excursion to the chicken house to learn the story of Grant’s dog and answer the following questions.
  1. The name of Grant’s dog was?_________________________
  2. His job on the farm was? ______________________________
THE CODE OF CONDUCT
To be eligible, both dog and their human companion pledge to follow the B.A.R.K. Code of Conduct while visiting the park.
B = Bag Your Pet’s Waste and Dispose of it Properly
A = Always Leash Your Pet
R= Respect Wildlife
K = Know Where You Can Go

TAKE THE B.A.R.K. RANGER PLEDGE

“I, (dog’s name), and my human companion promise to respect the B.A.R.K. Ranger Code when visiting National Parks and swear to serve as good role models to other visitors, both human and canine.”

Each dog receives a Ulysses S. Grant NHS B.A.R.K. Ranger bandana and a signed certificate.
