San Juan Island National Historical Park

The Royal Marines landed at English Camp on March 23, 1860, establishing their outpost on San Juan Island. For over 12 years, both English and American military forces occupied the island, developing a friendly relationship between the two nations which continues to this day. This tour explores takes you to English Camp's historic structures, explores their history, and examines the homesteaders who lived in this area after the English left in 1872.
