Mother-Daughter Tea

Shake off the winter doldrums and welcome the new season by sharing in a time-honored tradition, afternoon tea served with all the elegance and charm of the Victorian era at the Theodore Roosevelt Site, 641 Delaware Avenue. Mother-Daughter Tea, scheduled for April 30th and May 1st, 2011, will offer an opportunity to step back to another place in time filled with special luxuries seldom seen in today's busy world. Fresh flowers, delicate china teacups and crisp white linens will set the stage for an array of savory tea sandwiches, including the very traditional cucumber and watercress, freshly baked scones and delicious sweet treats. Victorian Teas are a specialty at the TR Site and for many years mothers and daughters of all ages, close friends and relatives have enjoyed a chance to don their "Sunday best" and share a delightful day with someone special. The highlight of this very special event is certain to be the vintage fashion show presented by the Site's Costume Resource Center. Imagine comparing what was all the rage decades ago with fashions today! Little girls will enjoy fashioning spring bonnets crowned with ribbons and flowers to compliment their ensembles.

Admission is $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for children 10 and under.

Tea will be served at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm each day. Reservations are necessary.
