Thing to Do
Watch the Katmai Bearcam

Follow the lives of the brown bears of Brooks River from anywhere with an internet connection. Katmai National Park and explore.org have partnered to bring the bears to you. You can see the bears live on the cams during the summer and early fall, typically late June through early October. Don’t miss a second of the action. You can check out the bearcam online and follow the links to our various feeds. Cameras are located at Brooks Falls, at the outlet of the Brooks River, near the summit of Dumpling Mountain, and even underwater. On social media, you can use #bearcam and also join the real-time chat at the bottom of any bearcam page on www.explore.org/bears.
Periodically throughout the season, rangers will host live chats on a variety of topics. Be sure to check the park’s calendar of events or social media pages for the live chat schedule.
