Visit the Jean Baptiste Vallé House

Built in 1794 for one of the last commandants of Ste. Genevieve, the Jean Baptiste Vallé House is one of many vertical log homes still standing in historic downtown. The Vallé family was a prominent family and had a hand in most of the industries that supported the community. The house was a private residence for many years and reflects the cultural changes that touched Ste. Genevieve over the years.

Visit the Jean Baptiste Vallé House to unwrap the layers of change. The grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk. Join a ranger-led program to visit the building's interior and learn more about the history of the house and its residents. For more information about program offerings, please call the Ste.
