Thing to Do
Stargazing at Chiricahua

NPS Photo/C. Bubar
Chiricahua National Monument is always open, so come experience our dark skies! We are an International Dark Sky Park, meaning that we are recognized for our exceptional quality of the park's night skies and our added commitments to protecting the sky from light pollution.
The best places to view the night sky at Chiricahua are the Faraway Ranch and Echo Canyon parking lots, both offering wide, unobstructed views of the sky. For really spectacular views, plan a visit to avoid a full moon. Check our event calendar to see if any special night sky programs are scheduled!
