Escape fast-paced Northern Virginia and venture into a natural oasis at Scott's Run Nature Preserve. On this hike along the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail visitors can encounter a waterfall, wildlife, and scenic views of the Potomac River.

Follow the trail for 0.7 miles until it opens to a view of the Potomac River and the waterfall. You can make it an out and back loop to reach 1.4 miles or continue the Potomac Heritage Trail to walk along the edge of the river, including to a scenic overlook, for another 1.2 miles, ending at Live Oak Drive.

Accessibility Information
The trail is mostly flat, except for a decline when approaching the waterfall. If doing and out and back, the dip will then have to be ascended. Continuing the hike includes more ascents and a section with stairs built into the trail.
