Thing to Do
Hike the Delta de Anza/Mokelumne Loop

Enjoy a moderate 5.62-mile loop by taking the Mokelumne Coast-to-Crest Trail to the Delta de Anza Trail. This paved loop passes through or near several schools and community parks and provides access to Contra Loma Regional Park and Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve. The trail has several steep inclines and is not recommended for people who use a wheelchair.
The Delta de Anza Regional Trail was named to commemorate the route taken by Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza during his 18th-century expedition into the Delta region of today's East Contra Costa County.
The paved, multi-use walking, running, hiking, bicycling, and equestrian trail currently spans over 27 miles.
This trail is an alternative transportation corridor connecting communities in central and eastern Contra Costa County. The community parks have play areas for children and are excellent rest stops during longer trips, providing restrooms, drinking water and picnic facilities.
