Fort Tours on Georges Island

Boston Harbor Now
Join the rangers of the Boston Harbor Islands for a tour of Fort Warren. Some ranger-led tours focus primarily on the military history of the fortifications, while others discuss the lives of prisoners at the fort during the Civil War.
Programs are offered to daily to coincide with ferry times. All programs at staffing and weather dependent and may be cancelled. Check inside the visitors center upon arrival to Georges. Programs last about 45 minutes and are typically followed by a telling of the story of the Lady in Black.

Tours are offered twice daily, at 11:15am and 1:15pm.
Service animals are allowed on island.
The interior of Fort Warren has several narrow passageways, doorway thresholds, and steep staircases. A mix of stone, and pavement provide access to much of the first level of the fort. Some of the pavement is uneven.
