Thing to Do
Fishing at Star Fort Pond

NPS
As the weather warms many people start preparing to pull out their fishing rods and head to the water. Once they have cast their line they will relax, exersise patience, make memories, and hopefully be rewarded with a nice catch as they enjoy the outdoors.
Star Fort Pond is a populare fishing spot for many locals and other visitors from around the state. Open for fishing from April through October on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturday some of the species found in the pond are largemouth bass, bluegill, shellcracker, and channel catfish fishing.
The pond is not only shared with other visitors but with many wild animals as well, including ducks, ospray, turtles, and even otters. All of these animals are protected by the park. To help keep these animals safe and make the park more enjoyable to others please take all your belongings, food, and trash with you when you leave to help us keep the pond beautiful.
Before heading out to fish though make sure you have all that you need and that you know the rules and regulations.
