Explore the Visitor Center

Explore the Washita Battlefield Visitor Center to learn about the events surrounding the 7th US Cavalry's attack under Lieutenant Colonel George A. Custer on Chief Black Kettle's Cheyenne village on November 27, 1868. The visitor center contains a range of permanent and temporary displays, artifacts, art, and interactive exhibits for visitors of all ages to explore.

The visitor center is open daily from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with the exception of being closed on Thanksgiving day, December 25, and January 1.
Accessibility Information
The visitor center is ABA accessible with easy access from ABA parking spots and paved sidewalks to the building. The visitor center has wide halls, an elevator to access both floor, and a wheel chair that visitors can borrow to get around the visitor center.
