Thing to Do
Enjoy the Beach at Aquatic Park Cove

NPS/J.Woerner
Aquatic Park Cove provides an opportunity for recreation in the urban space of San Francisco Matirime Naitonal Historical Park. The long arm of Municipal Pier protects the cove from the turbulence of the Bay water, providing a popular spot for swimmers and boaters. Aquatic Park Cove offers opportunities for kayaking, paddle boarding, rowing, as well as open water swimming in a semi-protected environment. The silty beach makes for an ideal spot to play in the sand or just take a break from the hectic activity of the city.
Swimmers should be aware of the potential hazards that could be present in the water, including marine animals and boaters. There are no lifeguards on duty, so safety is your responsibility. Keep a close eye on young children. Showers and changing rooms are not available. Restrooms are available at the Maritime Museum.
