Learning Objective: Through real-world observations and data collection, students will be able to conduct a field survey of birds in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and use their findings to construct conclusions about biodiversity within the park.

Program Description: Falcons, Eagles, and Orioles, Oh my! All eyes on the sky (and the trees, bushes, and rivers), as students take on the role of a scientist to study birds in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Can they use binoculars and a field guide to identify the flash of red that just flew by?

This is a 1-hour long program with a maximum class size of 35 students. Larger class sizes can be split into groups.
