"Mardi Gras Horse Game" is a 30 minute program on-site at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice, Louisiana. Students will learn about the history of country Mardi Gras and horse racing in Louisiana. They'll make the history and traditions come to life with a hobby horse race to collect gumbo ingredients.
Through this education program, students will discuss traditions. They'll learn about the history of country Mardi Gras and horse racing in the region.
Why do people collect ingredients for a gumbo during Mardi Gras? Why do they wear the costumes? Why are there horses involved? Students will find out through this education program and game.
