How did Booker T. Washington’s personal experiences as an enslaved child shape his vision for education, self-reliance, and racial progress?

Objective

Reflect on the hardships Booker T. Washington endured during enslavement and consider the significance of freedom.

Preparation

Teachers don’t need to prepare anything before the lesson. All supplies and materials will be ready for you at the site.

Procedure

Program Length: 1 hour.
Parking: Space for up to four busses is available at the Visitor Center. 
Additional Amenities: Accessible restrooms and an outdoor picnic area with eleven benches.
