Flat Stanley / Flat Ranger

Grade Level:
Upper Elementary: Third Grade through Fifth Grade

Looking for a destination for your Flat Stanley / Flat Ranger? Look no further - have them come visit Cane River Creole NHP today!

Your Flat Stanley / Flat Ranger will get a personal tour of Cane River Creole NHP and explore the unique resources of the Cane River area, and the stories of the people who lived here. Your Flat Stanley / Flat Ranger would love to learn about the culture of this area, and what makes this park special.

They will be able to explore the grounds, and will travel back with their book stamped, and stories to tell about their visit. Often, we find that they have even taken photos of themselves, or even bring back maps to share with students when they return.

We are happy to send your Flat Stanley / Flat Ranger on their way to other National Parks after their visit here. Let us know if they have any special requests in your letter.

What is Flat Stanley / Flat Ranger?

Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown is the story of a boy who is flattened by a bulletin board. Because he is flat, he can travel by mail.

Like Flat Stanley, Flat Rangers travel across the country by mail. They visit America's National Parks and send home pictures and information about all the places they see.

How do I start?

Start your adventure by drawing your own, or printing off a Flat Ranger or Flat Stanley template. There are many examples you can find online for inspiration. Decorate your new friend anyway you want, and do not forget to give them a name!
Write a letter with any requests you have for your flat friend, and any other information. Please include a return address, and a date that they need to be home by.
If you want to send your Flat Ranger on a longer trip, be sure to put that in your letter. You can include a list of parks you want your Flat Stanley / Flat Ranger to visit or you can ask the Ranger to pick a park for you.
