This self-guided activity will direct students through the "Peak Immigration Years" exhibit located on the second floor of Ellis Island's Main Building. Students will observe and read the exhibit's information panels and answer several questions. In this activity, students imagine themselves as an immigrant arriving on Ellis Island in 1905. At the conclusion, each student will have an understanding of the feelings, motives, and thoughts on why people immigrated to America through Ellis Island.
