The 4th Grade Bridging the Watershed (BTW) education program was created in conjunction with the White House youth initiative "Every Kid in a Park" in 2015. "Every Kid in a Park" was initiated to get all 4th grade students and their families to experience our country's national treasures, rich history, and vibrant culture free of charge.
A Teacher Ranger Teacher from Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) worked collaborartively with the Alice Ferguson Foundation (AFF), George Mason University (GMU) and the National Park Serice to develope a curriculum based program that provides educational field experiences to 4th graders in the PWCS system.
The 4th grade BTW program includes pre-visit activities, a field experience, and post-visit activities.
