Desert Bighorn Sheep have triumphed over a complete disappearance from Zion in the mid-1900s due to overhunting by humans and disease caught from domestic sheep.

Today, Zion’s sheep population thrives with over 500 in the park thanks to their perfect adaptations and help from scientists, rangers, volunteers, and the community surrounding Desert Bighorn Sheep habitat.

  2. We will briefly discuss what a desert is and what kind of plants, animals, and communities might live there.
