What We're Doing

In September 2014 the NPS National Capital Region awarded Siemens Government Technologies the first of a multi-phased Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC). The second phase was awarded in July 2016.

The ESPC allows the National Capital Region to meet energy reduction, renewable energy, and water conservation goals, and make significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

The project is funded by savings generated through the new energy conservation measures.

Greater efficiency will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 4,000 tons each year, reduce water usage by 74 million gallons each year and reduce energy use by nearly 20,000 MBtus each year.

National Capital Region ESPC Projects

The Energy Savings Performance Contract with Siemens allows for major improvements to water, lighting, and mechanical efficiency at no upfront cost to the NPS.
