Horses, Burros & Mules

People traveled by horseback long before national parks. It was the easiest way to travel; animals could walk long distances and carry heavy loads over rough terrain. Many national parks allow visitors to enjoy the scenery on horseback or through stock use. Visitors can travel some trails by horse, mule, burro, or other approved animal.
