Watch Out!

Although the national parks are home to many valuable resources and beautiful sites, they also host some of the harmful diseases and pests found in nature. Whether native or non-native species, pests can spread disease and affect park ecosystems and the plants and animals found within. They can also pose a risk to visitors, so when you’re visiting the national parks, be sure and check with a ranger about local risks. Discover how the National Park Service deals with diseases and pests.
