Particulate Matter Speciation

Air quality analyses for National Park Service (NPS) areas should include, when appropriate, the NPS recommendations for particulate matter (PM10) speciation. This guidance provides recommendations for modeling the PM10 speciation for a variety of sources.

The information reflects the current thinking of NPS for each of the sources listed below. These specifications should be included in all modeling protocols. Further refinements and modifications will be made as new information becomes available.
