AML Project Funding for Parks

[Site Under Development]

Introduction

In 2022, the NPS received funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Public Law 117-5 (BIL) for AML projects. This law provides funding for NPS AML projects related to reclamation, mitigation of physical hazards, clean-up of legacy pollution, and restoration of natural functions and processes. There is a specific focus on restoration of native vegetation and projects that will provide greater habitat connectivity and ecosystem function while improving visitor safety and enjoyment.

AML features that are contaminated (contain hazardous substances that impact the environment) may be eligible for funding under the DOI Central Hazmat Fund Source.
