Update: Site Observation Update Week Mar 30th
Work on the visitor center continues, albeit at a slower pace than normal, and with fewer resources than previously. With the tremendous weather we have been experiencing we have been making great progress with the resources we do have. With those resources focused on the main structure momentum continues to be good.
It’s important to note that all crew members are employing all of those health and safety measure that we are all practicing, including social distancing. Work crew members are being monitored regularly, and sanitation facilities are available for the crew. While the project is certainly important, the health and safety of employees and workers is much more important.
(A) Inside of the reception area and exhibit space we are beginning to see how things will look for visitors. This view is looking from the southwestern corner to the northeast. To the right in the photos will be a small bookstore area. To the center we see the windows that open into the administrative area.

(B) Outside we see a worker installing soffit to the roof overhang, and the openings that will soon receive windows.
(C) From the picnic area to the west we can see how the building will present itself as visitors arrive.

(D) Looking out the front door, we can see the affect of the large windows as they bring in afternoon sunlight.

(E) Looking back into the administrative area you are looking at a long space that will host desks and Rangers. Utilities will be off to the left along with an office and small storage area.
(F) Windows have arrived and will be installed soon.
