As progress on the visitor center moves ahead, we will begin to see fewer major milestones being crossed. The reason is simple, we have made tremendous progress, and most major components are now in place. The work now being done is refining the pieces that are in place as we move toward an expected September-October completion date. Great news!
It’s important to note that all crew members are employing all those health and safety measure that we are all practicing, including social distancing. Work crew members are being monitored regularly, and sanitation facilities are available for the crew. While the project is certainly important, the health and safety of employees and workers is much more important.

(A) Above, a beautiful natural rock wall now surrounds our old friend, the Douglas Fir just outside the front door of the visitor center, as it was in the old VC. from the VC to the interpretive plaza and beyond. It’s part of the landscape.
(B) Here in photo B we see a worker painting the fascia covering the roof’s edge.

(C) What a welcome sight! Here in photo C we see the final concrete pour in place and curing at the interpretive plaza. We expect to be offing programming here for many, many years to come.

(D) A simple strand of metal cable is very symbolic. This metal cable will soon be bringing electricity to the structure. It won’t be long until the cable is covered, wall board is installed and painted, and visitors arrive to enjoy what will be about 12-months of effort.
