Update: Site Observation Update Week of Jan 27th

February 01, 2020 Posted by: Anna Mateljak

With the dried concrete from the previous week’s pour, removal of the foundation wall formwork occurred to prepare the foundation walls for rigid insulation installation. Once the foundation insulation was installed a gravel sub-base material was used to fill the foundation to the projected level of new slab floor. The gravel sub-base material was installed by a “Sling” truck or C.A.D. (Conveying Aggregate Distribution) truck which transfers the gravel from truck’s bed onto a conveyor belt which then pivots to distribute and launch the gravel via a remote control device manned by the truck operator. The gravel is then continually dispatched and the workers then distribute it evenly by raking and then compressing it by back and forth through operation of a walk behind roller machine.

After the weekend of concrete drying, the foundation framework was removed and stacked for later use.

A construction truck with large truck bed full of gravel uses a conveyor belt to distribute gravel into the newly construction building foundation.
