This week it finally felt like the season was changing with beautiful sunny weather! Monday consisted of prep-work for the pour by creating the formwork around the pier supports for the visitor center entry trellis and erecting internal steel posts supports. Tuesday’s concrete pour for the foundation slab and trellis support piers was successful. While the cement dried, the slab was cleaned up with grinding and smoothing the surfaces and sawcutting control joints. Work started on the construction of lower parking lot eastern rock wall.
The last finishing touches of reinforcement and rough-in utilities all completed Monday for Tuesday’s concrete slab pour.
A sunny day makes for a great day to pour concrete for the foundation slab.
Constructions workers use the concrete crane and hose to evenly spread concert from the cement mixer
Once the cement has been poured, screeding the wet concert to make sure a level surface is achieved.
