Update: Site Observation Update Weeks Aug11th and Aug 18th

We have two weeks of updates for you, and progress has been significant with several major components of the site complete and nearing completion.

Of note, the new access road from Cattle Point Road continues to be prepared for pavement, and culvert for drainage has been installed. At the end of the old access road, a new cul-de-sac has been prepared and readied for pavement, while the remainder of the old access road pavement, and that in the old parking lot, has been removed in preparation for new. The final backfill has now been completed at the septic drainage site as well. Rounding out the major external work, siding on the south side of the building is complete and work now moves to the front of the structure, and the combination of the two siding types has turned out very well.

Inside, cedar window and door casings are nearing completion as door and window hardware are being installed as well. Additionally, Ranger workstations have been installed in the administrative area as has the visitor services desk in the main room. That work is a nice compliment to the bookstore cabinetry which is already in place. Work in the two restrooms has revealed a beautiful and bright combination of colors which are accented by the natural light from the skylights installed earlier. It’s really exciting to see all the finish work coming together as we get ever closer to completion.

It’s important to note that all crew members are employing all those health and safety measure that we are all practicing, including social distancing. Work crew members are being monitored regularly, and sanitation facilities are available for the crew. While the project is certainly important, the health and safety of employees and workers is much more important.

(F) Yes, we will be installing walls around toilets. In the meantime, you will notice the bright white tile with blue accent bathed in the natural light from skylights. Counters of similar material are installed as have fixtures.

(G) Here, at the entry of the old access road, workers have now cleared space for a cul-de-sac in preparation for pavement.
