The role of the Research Learning Centers is to increase the effectiveness and communication of results from research and science conducted in national parks. Collaboration is essential in science, and partners in research can include a wide variety of entities including NPS reserachers and programs, other federal agencies, non-profit partners, colleges and universities, other educational institutions, and local communities.
