Angela DePalma-Dow loves both natural areas and science, so she’s thrilled that her research on aquatic macrophyte diversity of the inland lakes of Isle Royale National Park has left a tangible resource that other scientists will be able to use forever! Angela and her field assistants collected, pressed, preserved and submitted a 500-specimen aquatic plant collection to the Michigan State University Herbarium. It’s also a part of the Lake Superior Museum Collections Management System and NPS archives. This creates a permanent record of the plants she found on the island’s lakes that can be used for research and reference forever!
