    Come to the Lake Powell Resort at Wahweap Marina for a fun filled evening of bat activities. Join the rangers and our friends with Glen Canyon Natural History Association on the lawn at the 3rd Annual Glen Canyon National Recreation Area Bat Festival.

    Everyone is invited to this family friendly event to learn more about bats, how they help the environment, and how we can help them. Children are invited participate in activities and crafts, as well as bat house building demos for people of all ages.

    Schedule of Events

    • 5:00–8:00 pm Educational and Craft Booths
      Learn from park scientists, rangers, and Glen Canyon Natural History Association staff about bats, bat research, and how to promote bat habitat at your own home. Enter to win door prizes too.
    • 7:20–8:00 pm Bat Listening Walk
      Join a ranger for an easy 1 mile hike, using acoustic monitoring devices to listen for bat activity.
    • 8:00–9:00 pm Presentations

    • 9:00–10:00 pm Bat Listening Walk
      Join park researchers for an easy 1 mile hike, using acoustic monitoring devices to listen for bat activity.

    Come out to celebrate the hardest working night team of pest controllers and pollinators in Glen Canyon. There's a lot to learn about bats and how they help make life on the lake pleasant for visitors and residents.
