41st Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous

    Join George Rogers Clark NHP, the Spirit of Vincennes, Inc, and the city of Vincennes in celebrating the 41st Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous Memorial Day weekend (Saturday May 27 and Sunday May 28) on the French Commons near George Rogers Clark National Historical Park.  

    Battlefield activities will include units of soldiers from the Northwest Territory Alliance (NWTA). Two battle enactments will be offered Saturday, including a special 8:00 pm evening battle on Saturday May 28th, as well as two battles on Sunday.The Tippecanoe Fife and Drum Corps will offer authentic music from the period.  Artillery demonstrations will be provided throughout the weekend. A variety of 18th century crafts will be on display, including blacksmiths, silversmiths, spinners, weavers, and so much more.  A separate children's area for the kids will be available, where kids can make corn husk dolls, enjoy the excitement of the Budabi Brothers' juggling act, and ox rides!

    Food both vendors will serve up a taste of the era with buffalo burgers, pork chops, corn on the cob, turkey legs, creek fried potatoes, strawberry shortcake, and so much more.  Your thirst can be quenched with ice cold lemonade or sweet tea! Advance buttons are for sale now at most banking institutions in Vincennes, the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, the Visitors and Tourism Bureau, and George Rogers Clark NHP. They are selling for $9 and will only be sold until the week before the event.

    As a part of the Rendezvous, the annual Photo Contest will be held.  For a $12 registration fee, participants have the opportunity to compete for a variety of prizes in a variety of categories, as photographers try to capture the "spirit" of the Rendezvous.  There is also a special youth category for children 15 and under.
