While the North Carolina coast is not on the path to witness a total solar eclipse, we will enjoy having a partial eclipse with about 93% of the sun covered by the moon.
Join us at the park's visitor centers to not only observe this amazing cosmic event through solar projection telescopes, but also take part in other solar related activities. You can even become a Jr Ranger Eclipse Explorer! Free Eclipse Viewers will be handed out, while supplies last, for viewing the eclipse directly.
Partial eclipse is predicted to start at 1:22 pm; maximum partial eclipse at 2:50 pm; partial eclipse is predicted to end at 4:10 pm.
