Join us on this 3-day tour and meet expert historians and re-enactors as we visit sites along the Ohio River that attest to the determination and will of freedom seekers and conductors who sacrificed their lives for the democracy we enjoy today. Don't miss it!

The tour begins at Oldham County History Center, a designated National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom site. Attendees will look at historic court documents from the history center that attest to the resistance of freedom seekers. The next stop is Trimble County where visitors will go to the place where abolitionist Henry Bibb was enslaved in addition to the farm of Underground Railroad conductor, Delia Webster.

Madison, Indiana is the next stop where visitors will meet with historians and walk through Georgetown District, a neighborhood known for providing a safe harbor for runaway slaves. The next day, visitors will journey to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and meet archeologist Jeannine Kreinbrink who helped with the reconstruction of the slave jail exhibit. Ripley, Ohio is the next destination which is well known for its Underground Railroad community that inspired Harriet Beecher Stowe to write, "Uncle Tom's Cabin."

The following day, visitors will go to Camp Nelson Heritage Center and meet Bob Bell, an official member of the 12th U.S.. Colored Infantry whose regiments was stationed at Nelson. The tour will then return to Oldham County History Center.
