    Celebrate Arts in Parks with these talented local musicians as they share songs that entertained and stirred emotions in soldiers and civilians during the Civil War. They will present two 45-miute concerts near the visitor center at 11 AM & 2 PM.

    Home Sweet Home Band - Bios

    Rob Pearcy – Rob has distinguished himself both as a performer and an educator. He serves as an associate professor of music at Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music. He has been the Tennessee State Guitar Champion many times and has consistently placed highly in the National Guitar Competition. Rob is the recipient of numerous awards for old time music preservation.

    Daniel Rothwell – A master of old time banjo, Daniel dedicates himself to preserving this traditional art form. Daniel has been the National Old Time Banjo Champion. He has a degree in history from Motlow College, where he received the President’s Award. Daniel recently played at the Library of Congress at a program for the National Endowment for the Arts.

    Elaine Winters – Elaine holds a degree from MTSU and actively pursues old time music as a hobby. Elaine is a founder and three time director of the BachFest music competition and has served as a judge for old time instrument competitions at Uncle Dave Macon Days. 

    Amanda Shields - Amanda hails from the San Diego area, but since recently moving to Murfreesboro, she has immersed herself in local history. Amanda volunteers as a living historian at Stones River Battlefield. Her beautiful soprano voice has been featured in plays and musical productions.
